Music speaks to us, and we speak with music.”

Jamie has dedicated her life to learning every facet of music available to her.  She was fortunate enough to have a rich musical education in her formative years, where she explored her abilities through a variety of different classes, extracurriculars, and outside programs like NYSSSA School of Orchestral Studies and Nassau-Suffolk Wind Ensemble. Through meeting other like-minded, talented individuals as well as passionate, inspirational mentors, Jamie discovered early on that music was something she wanted to immerse herself in for the rest of her life.

Jamie is a multi-instrumentalist with training in flute, voice, piano, and guitar. Jamie studied classical flute in Dr. Tara Helen O’Connor’s flute studio at SUNY Purchase where she graduated from in 2011. As a performer, Jamie has performed in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall and Symphony Space. Jamie co-founded the JKLM Duo, a flute-vocal-cajon/guitar duo with Katty Mayorga in 2013. She also is currently part of the a cappella group - The Lost Keys, which performs regularly in the Tri-state area.

Jamie’s approach to teaching is mainly collaborative and explorative with a strong foundation in the basis of music theory, cooperative planning, and positivity.  She believes her biggest duty is always making sure the student is heard so the progress they are making is as tangible to them as can be. Hearing what they enjoy most helps Jamie find and expand the students’ boundaries so they can accept all music for all its worth.
