Ryan McBride

Drums

As a teacher, my mission is to inspire, motivate and educate the next generation of musicians by example. Everybody can benefit from learning an instrument, and everybody can learn if they are motivated

Ryan McBride has been based in New York City since 2008. He has performed with Broadway/cabaret singers such as Will Roland ("Dear Evan Hansen,""Be More Chill,"), Adrian Zmed ("Grease," "TJ Hooker"), Christine Ohlman ("Saturday Night Live" band), and Adam Pascal ("RENT," "Aida"). As a leader, his band has performed at such NYC venues as DROM and The Cutting Room, where they presented a tribute to Steely Dan's classic album,"Aja."

His jazz quartet was an opening act for such jazz legends as Dr. Eddie Henderson, Sheila Jordan, and Toshiko Akiyoshi as part of William Paterson University's Jazz Room series from 2012-2014. During this time, he also completed his Master's Thesis, "A Model Mentor: The Relationship between the Pedagogy and Performance Style of Alan Dawson," currently published by ProQuest/UMI.

Additionally, he has subbed regularly for the Off-Broadway run of "Jersey Boys," as well as "Bella: An American Tall Tale" and "Midnight At The Never Get," the latter of which he did the out-of-town tryout for in Provincetown, MA. He has also appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert." When not performing or teaching, he accompanies dance classes at Mark Morris Dance Center, Paul Taylor Dance School, and Marymount Manhattan College.
